The word “angel” comes from the Greek word angelos and means “messenger.” In art, angels have represented for centuries the idea of ​​guidance, protection, and connection between the human and the divine: figures that convey a message that does not belong to them and act as intermediaries.

In this work, the angel no longer responds to an external voice. The burden he bears is not celestial: it is personal. The wings symbolize the standards he has chosen to embrace: to live without compromise, without accepting what doesn't fit, without looking the other way. Raising those standards does not bring lightness; it brings rigor and responsibility.

The figure neither stops nor retreats. It walks. It moves forward with its body engaged, aware of the effort required to maintain its own direction. The downward gaze does not express weariness, but concentration: the instant before raising the head, asserting the posture, and continuing.

The work speaks of the moment when the message ceases to be sought externally and becomes a way of life. The angel neither protects nor guides others: he guides himself. He is master of his purpose and the consequences of upholding it, connected to the origin of UDU.
