THE WORK

- Dimensions: 122 x 107cm
- Technique: charcoal, pastel and charcoal on paper.

On the depicted David, we see tattooed symbols such as a laurel wreath, evoking overcoming adversity and inner triumph. On his chest, the hands of Creation, which Michelangelo himself placed in the Sistine Chapel, point this time towards the center, covered by the diamond of UNODEUNO, to remind us that the creative impulse and the love of existence share a common origin.

At the level of the belly, two swallows, a symbol in various cultures of the soul's journey and connection with the spiritual, fly towards a Latin inscription: Memento Mori (Remember that you will die).

On the neck, a Fuck Art that reminds us that art is not a sacred object, but an act of provocation, truth and living energy.

David holds in his left hand our first watch, a symbol of time and the fleeting nature of life. All this to remind us of what we already know: that we are just passing through, that there is only one chance, and that we must live it to the fullest. We are dust—like the charcoal with which the work was created—that can be transformed into creation, even if only for an instant.
